Questions about down quilts.
Is it safe to wash a down quilt?
If there is a "washable in cold water" mark on the laundry label, it can be handled. Polyester and cotton covers are safe.
How do I wash the feathers so that they don't get all lumpy?
Roll it up and put it in fluffy and do not use a net for more even washing.
How often should down quilts be washed?
1-2 times a year is a good rule of thumb. Especially recommended during seasonal changes and before storage.
What is the estimated drying time?
About 60 minutes. One shake during the process improves the finish.
Can I wash two pieces at once?
A single sheet can be handled in a washer/dryer size L. However, if finishing is important, we recommend one sheet at a time.
Do you notice any odor after washing?
Caused by moisture in the down. Drying completely reduces this problem.
If the laundry tag is missing, can I wash it?
Basically, you are on your own, but those labeled "down" can often be washed in water.
Will putting the feathers in the dryer damage them?
Mamma Chao dryers are designed for fluffy drying and do not get too hot. It can be used with peace of mind.
What should I do if my duvet is torn?
Avoid use. Feathers may fly into the machine, leading to equipment failure.
Is it effective as a tick control measure?
Yes, drying at temperatures above 60°C kills mites. It is also effective against allergies.
Do down quilts get damaged if washed too much?
Frequent washing strips the down of its oils and reduces its heat retention. A good rule of thumb is to wash once or twice a year.
Is there a concern about color fading in colored duvets?
Dark colors may fade slightly, so washing alone is recommended.
Can I wash a two-layer or three-layer duvet?
Due to its thickness, use a large washing machine; it is safe to wash one piece at a time.
Should I wash before the off-season?
Yes. Wash and dry before storage to prevent mold, odor, and insect damage.
What should I do if the feathers have hardened?
It may not be dry enough. Additional 20-30 minutes of drying and unraveling during the process will improve the situation.

Urethane or cotton-filled materials are not acceptable, but quilted polyester or cotton materials are acceptable.

What is the trick to fluff and dry?
Take it out once during the process and turn it inside out so that it dries evenly.
